FAQ
Curious about how I work, who I collaborate with, or what Animal Centered Design means?
This FAQ explores the foundations of my practice - blending design, ethics, and care across species, systems, and stories. If you're considering working together, you're in the right place.
-
Animal Centered Design (ACD) is a design philosophy and methodology that considers non-human animals as legitimate users, participants, and stakeholders in the design process. It involves creating products, environments, and systems that improve animal well-being—not just for pets, but also for farm animals, wildlife, and working animals.
Unlike traditional human-centered design, ACD asks us to rethink who we design for, how we interpret needs across species, and how we foster more ethical, collaborative human-animal relationships. It’s about expanding empathy and rigor to include those who don’t speak our language, yet share our world.
-
It’s a moral framework that centers context, relationship, and responsibility over abstract rules. Originally used in healthcare and feminist theory, I apply it to design—especially when working with non-verbal or non-human participants.
-
I blend industrial design, CMF, animal-centered research, and lived experience as a solo mother to create systems that are ethical, practical, and care-driven. My work bridges strategy, empathy, and innovation—centering design that honors all forms of life.
-
I collaborate with design teams, researchers, NGOs, tech startups, educators, and care-focused innovators working at the intersection of animals, systems, and ethics. If your work touches on interspecies connection or care-driven design—I’d love to hear from you.Item description

Yes. I deliver keynotes, guest lectures, and custom workshops on topics including Animal-Centered Design, ethical innovation, and maternal autonomy. Every engagement is tailored to the audience and context.
-
As a dual citizen, I am based between Bogotá and the U.S., and work globally—both remotely and in person depending on the scope of the project.
-
My ventures—pH-auna, Pomodogo, and Universo Marea—are living laboratories. They ground my speaking and consulting in tested methods, real use cases, and multispecies insights that I adapt for each collaboration.

Expect depth, clarity, and thoughtful provocation. I bring structure without rigidity, and design processes that honor nuance, interdependence, and lived experience. Every project begins with listening, followed by tailored strategies that reflect your context—and challenge it when needed.
